I arrived in the Middle East (United Arab Emirates) on September 1, 2014 after leaving my job, family, friends, home country, and everything I had ever known to a place of uncertainty, challenges, strict laws, and most importantly the opportunity to learn from the world. It was a risk that I was willing to take…needed to take. I wondered a lot of things but today was only looking forward to a good sleep after 14 hours on a plane and warm food. Like a breath of fresh, hot and humid air, I walked out of the DXB airport into a waiting auto. With only 2 suitcases in hand, a handbag, and backpack, there I was. A stranger in a strange land. Far away from my culture and my old life.  The need to be an explorer and explore the world through my eyes for the first time in a long time. I knew this was just what I needed. After all, exploring is my passion. To explore life is to experience a new sensation for the first time. It feels real and for the first time, I need to feel unconditionally ALIVE. To feel like myself.
